THE POWER OF WATER

Water sustains life. Without water, everything dies. Clean water saves lives and provides a better quality of life. Today, 785 million people (that's 1 out of 9) lack access to safe water. Two billion people (1 out of 3) lack access to improved sanitation.

GLOBAL WATER CRISIS

Water-related health crisis is a reality. Over one million people die each year due to lack of clean water, proper sanitation, and related diseases.

When people have access to safe water, health improves, life-threatening diseases are prevented, and mortality rates are dramatically reduced for children and adults.

Water is heavy to carry and many who walk miles daily just to have water are injured. Many of the sources of water are open to organic matter that result in water=borne diseases. Every 2 minutes a child dies from a water=borne disease. Contaminated water is the third leading cause of child death due to diarrhea. One in three schools lack access to clean water.

Globally $260 billion is lost annually due to lack of fresh water and adequate sanitation. Lack of water affects the economy of many nations. Collectively people spend 200 million hours every day retrieving and carrying water. Everyone needs water. Water has a purpose. Water saves lives.

NIGERIA WATER CRISIS

57 million people don't have access to clean water. Only 26.5% of the population use improved drinking water sources and sanitation facilities. More than 70,000 children under the age of 5 die each year due to poor water and sanitation. Currently Good New International has provided 6 deep bore wells and multiple toilet facilities. Our goal is 50 wells per year for Nigeria.

FRESH WATER SOLUTIONS

Good News International is digging deep bore wells (200' and deeper) in Nigeria, Africa in remote villages. Our team in Nigeria locates, oversees, and maintains these wells. many shallow wells previously dug are hand pumped and eventually go dry. Dry season causes the water table to drop and deplete the wells. As a result, many of the these wells are abandoned. Villagers are forced to walk miles to get water where they can find it, with an 80 pound bucket of contaminated water on their heads for their needs. Deep bore wells are at the bedrock where there is an abundance of clean water. Each well is constructed with multiple spigots for village use, a 5,000 gallon storage tank, a cement platform to hold the tank and a generator to power the stainless steel submersible pump.

"And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward." Matthew 10:42

WATER WITH A MISSION

Our deep bore wells have a two-fold purpose:

  1. Water saves lives.

  2. Our water wells act as a powerful witnessing tool of God's love in action. This gives us an open door to minister the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Often villagers are promised things that never materialize. When we hire local people to dig the foundation, mix the cement and build the structure; and hire a local drilling rig to dig the well, it has tremendous impact on the area. Villagers witness firsthand God's provision of lifesaving water with a lifesaving message.

Water saves lives.

Jesus saves souls.

We invite you to join us as we pursue this life-changing mission. When you contribute, it is as if you are handing a cup of water to a thirsty world. Jesus said, "You will not lose your reward." There is a blessing to those who are generous and compassionate.

"When we love God intimately, we will love others passionately." J. Moore

Each well costs $5000 and is maintained by our Nigerian mission team. Each crusade and trip to Africa is different in budget. Your donation toward the wells and/or our trips, helps us to help others to live a quality of life they would otherwise not have. Your donations to Good News International give us the tools to "show and tell" the Good News of Jesus Christ. To give, please select the DONATE button above, or mail your gift to the address HERE.

Thank you for your prayers for our mission efforts, and for your generous gifts.
